The New Little Black Dress?

Saturday, 19 May 2012 13:28:08 Europe/London

Created and first made popular by fashion legend Coco Chanel, Le Suit Jacket is and always will be a fashion staple.

Like 'The LBD', these jackets are a classic, always chic, always stylish and pretty much wear themselves. They fit all the criteria for a wardrobe must have and, unsurprisingly, most celebrities have been papped wearing one. They are the perfect way to smarten up a very casual jeans and T-shirt.

Of course, the high street has come out with many variations of the jacket, and we currently have one in the shop from, one of Kate Middleton's faves, L.K.Bennet which we have paired with a Humanoid vest and fitted skirt. We loved it the minute it came in and we are sure it will be snapped up by a deserving customer in a heartbeat.

Although we would all love an original, dont hesistate to try a high street version. As long as it fits well, you can be sure to feel ever the fashionista running around town in your Le Suit Jacket.

Treat time

Wednesday, 4 April 2012 20:17:18 Europe/London

We don't just write about clothes. Sometimes we share our opinions on things that are just brilliant!

Take this facial oil from The Sanctuary. I love oils, especially facial oils. They can work miracles on my dry, sensitive skin. For little effort they give maximum results. I've been using this Therapists Secret Facial Oil for about a month now and it really is a wonderful product.

Apply a few drops to freshly cleansed skin and wake up with smooth, soft skin. It's simple and it really works.

Go on treat yourself!

Sporty gets chic

Saturday, 31 March 2012 14:18:46 Europe/London

We have always been partial to a bit of ASH love, we tend to get a bit giggly when we get a pair of our beloved in at Edit. But how could we have ever prepared ourselves for the new season of high top wedged trainers at ASH's affordable prices!? We nearly fell off our chairs when we saw these little beauties.

After the Isabel Marant Willow and Betty trainers splashed themselves all over the feet of the fashion savvy at London Fashion Week, we have been desparate for a pair, but not so desperate to spend £400. So you can imagine our delight at the return of the ASH classics, and in this seasons pastels. What could be better? On trend and comfortable? SOLD.

Wardrobe talk

Wednesday, 21 March 2012 21:41:13 Europe/London

Thinking about your Spring wardrobe? lord knows I have. I am very much over my winter uniform of Citizens skinny jeans, Sam Edelman ankle boots and oversized check shirt. (Note to self- in September plan new winter wardrobe) I want a wardrobe that when I open those doors instead of being transported into Narnia, I can pull out an outfit in 10 secs flat, and like it.

I released my Spring clothes from their winter hibernation and realised there isn't much going on that I like. A couple of nice pairs of harem pants, a denim skirt and my summer staple of Humanoid dresses plus the most beautiful Miu Miu white tote that I do like. Very, very much.

The rest is marked only wear abroad.

So mission over the next few weeks is to curate a beautiful, harmonious, we all love each other wardrobe. So far so good, I have started with a pair of Aiden tapered jeans from Topshop, another pair of gold silk harems from Topshop that came into Edit and a very simple yellow cashmere jumper from Neilson Boutique which is just up the road from Edit

It's got me thinking what are the basic building blocks for a Spring wardrobe? the usual suspects like a lighter wash jean, colours in general and a couple of trophy jackets and some open toed heels. This is best part. The thinking. The looking at Pinterest for ideas, perusing online stores and magazines for looks. It's unlikely that the Rag and Bone orange blazer is going to entering my wardrobe any time soon but I'll keep an eye out for a look alike arriving at Edit.

Fashion Heaven

Friday, 9 March 2012 15:48:35 Europe/London

Of all the designer beauties we get in here at Edit Boutique, sometimes we get some right royal corkers. This week it was this stunning Chanel skirt with its layers of netting, its hoop and the elegant feather detail.

Imagine Carrie Bradshaw strutting down New York's Fifth Avenue in it, teamed with a white vest or jumper and ankle boots with socks. It's fashion heaven.
